Glass is made up of several ingredients but the most important sand or also known as silica as well as soda ash and lime. In the glass making process, glass can virtually be made into any shape and also be given any color. Color is added by adding another ingredient that will give it the color property, for example adding cobalt will give a blue color.

The glass making products is difficult at first, because it requires lots of precision and caution when using high temperatures. But the outcome of the glass making products gives us wonderful object that we can use to decorate our homes or use for everyday life such as windows, cups, light bulbs and buildings.

Just think, glass is so important in our everyday life, but yet so fragile. Many years ago, the glass making process required lots of precision to yield a nice smooth glass sheet.

Today the glass making process has modernized much today, but still for major manufacturing companies of glass, lots of supervision is required.

And here is a fun fact about the glass making process, glass is not a solid and never is! Glass is also known as a “super cool liquid”. We think it is solid, like the glass windows in our house, but it is actually just a really cool liquid, that is slowly changing as we look right through it.
